Contribute in a 50% reduction
of poverty in Bolivia by the year 2015 as per the MDGs.
CARE in Bolivia shall concentrate its efforts
in achieving priority area objectives by forming strategic
alliances with other institutions, fostering a holistic approach,
and creating synergies in efforts geared towards improving
the access of families to basic necessities and promoting
the comprehensive exercise of individual rights. |

The
strategic guidelines that help CARE in Bolivia direct
and focus its efforts are:
Political Impact
CARE in Bolivia will
participate in processes at a local and regional level,
as well as within social networks, that have political
impact and that allow for a comprehensive exercise of
individual rights and changes in public attitudes, geared
towards the creation of favorable conditions in the
reduction of poverty. |
Mobilization of Resources
The mobilization and bringing together of different
available resources on the part of the collection of
social actors, as well as through the social, political
and economic processes at the local, regional and international
levels geared towards overcoming poverty.
Skills Generation and Strengthening
CARE in Bolivia will work with State and Municipal governments,
civil society and private sector, empowering

and organizations by building new skills or strengthening
those that already exist, with the objective of contributing
to the reduction of poverty.
Promotion of intra and inter-institutional learning
CARE in Bolivia will develop and promote an intra and
inter-institutional learning culture, based on its own
and other’s experience, that fosters the creation
of knowledge adequate for the interpretation of the
socioeconomic and political situation in the country,
in order to effectively and efficiently respond to changes
at a local, state and national level. |

Rights Based
Approach (RBA)
Deliberate action towards generating capacity in the
individual to claim and exercise their rights, as
well as to empower individuals in their capacity to
fulfill their responsibilities in regards to their
own rights as well as of their community colleagues
and peers..
Household Livelihood
Security (HLS)
Adequate and sustainable access to income and resources
to satisfy basic needs; including access to food,
drinking water, health services, education opportunities,
housing, environment, community participation and
social integration.

Gender, Equity and Diversity (GED)
Foster a culture that acts and organizes itself such
as to attain equity between men and women, as well as
between diverse ethnic, cultural and generational groups,
in the access to opportunities.
Education
Our focus in education is cross cutting in that all
areas of intervention include a component of educational
processes for learning new approaches, new ideas and
the application of them to improve the quality of life.
