CARE continues with its work helping flood victims in Pando
CARE International in Bolivia, as part of it official action, sent an important donation to the Departmental Health Service (SEDES), through the Operative Committee for Departmental Emergencies (COE Pando), with the aim of co-aiding the work of providing aid to flood affected families that live in rural and urban areas in the various municipalities of the department.
Our 32nd Anniversary…
It has been 32 years since CARE began its work in Bolivia, focused in making a country of hope, tolerance and social justice, in which poverty has been overcome and the people live with dignity, security and exercise their rights. This is being achieved year on year, helping the people and their families in the country’s poorest communities by uniting our efforts with other social actors to achieve a greater impact in the lives and development of the Bolivian population.
CARE Distributes Tools and Seeds in Chuquisaca to Boost Recovery from Disaster
On Wednesday, March 26, CARE traveled to those communities to distribute tools such as pick-axes, hoes, spades, and wheelbarrows, as well as onion and carrot seeds and fencing materials so that families can begin planting again. The organization will reach more than 1,000 people with this emergency assistance and 1,095 people- who have been identified as extremely poor- will also receive a household kit comprised of blankets, a cooking pot, and kitchen utensils.
Promover Project widens its services for micro-enterprices in the city
The Project “Empowering women and young people to start micro-enterprises in the city of El Alto” or PROMOVER has been working since March 2006 with financing from the European Union and support from the Development Organization CARE International Bolivia alongside the Business Development Program for Businesses PRODEPE, helping different economic endeavours with training in business management, with continuous support after training. We have the aim of improving the reach of the project; we have been working to implement a new component called Local Economic Development.
