CARE International in Bolivia is accredited for Provision of Quality Service with a Focus on Gender

Recently CARE International in Bolivia along with 12 other NGOs received “Accreditation for Provision of Quality Service with a Focus on Gender,” awarded by the Coordination Program for Integrated Health (PROCOSI). This certification, which is valid for two years, recognizes the effort and commitment to promoting gender equity both in and outside of CARE in Bolivia.

The policy of Gender and Equity of CARE in Bolivia is oriented toward promoting equity free from discrimination based on sex, race, economic level, nationality, ethnicity, age, creed, or sexual orientation, in the entire organizational structure as well as in its work with partner and community organizations. We create an environment that promotes expression and recognizes the equal value of men and women, an environment in which we can demonstrate the ability that we have to work as complementary teams with respect, value, and participation. We recognize ourselves for our abilities and knowledge and push to be recognized as equals.

We are convinced that all of our actions have an effect in the empowerment of people and communities to act in a conscious way. We support institutions and organizations that promote formal or informal education based in rights, gender, and diversity, and that foster leadership and empowerment of men and women of the community. In this context we design and implement all of our programs, project, and emergency and rehabilitation initiatives with a focus on gender guided by these policies and by the cultures of the communities. In CARE in Bolivia we promote and model our focus of equity and social justice in the framework of the Programmatic Principle of Addressing Discrimination in all environments in which we work, seeking creative and innovative ways to transcend our work situation, go to the family, community, and partner organizations and counterparts. We are in a constant search for innovative experiences and exchanges of ideas that bring changes to our attitudes and ways of thinking.
