The clothing industry, and option for business men/women in El Alto
Israel in his sewing workshop.
This is the workshop of Israel Ramos, a young man who started in his uncle’s sewing workshop and who is now making great progress thanks to his hard work.

Israel is 28 years old, and lives in El Alto, in the Ciudad Satélite zone. He started making clothes when he was very young, working with his uncle in his sewing workshop.

When he was 18 he decided to move to Argentina to search for job opportunities, he worked in a sewing workshop, where he gained experience and improved his skills, this was when he proposed to take things forward and to make his own business.

When he returned to Bolivia and to his city, he decided to
create his own workshop, then via and advert in a local newspaper he found the PROMOVER program and decided to participate, “… I was aware that I had to have a better knowledge of business administration and needed support in this respect, better to enter the PROMOVER program I thought and so I signed up.”
Israel was an exemplary student, he attended the 10 training sessions, always came with great enthusiasm and a willingness to learn every day, he learned about a medium and long-term vision, to identify his costs and investigated market possibilities, knowledge of consumer demand and the importance of worker competence, in this respect he could modify his business to a potential market.

He emotionally expressed to the coordinator Pablo Vera:
“...now with better knowledge of the administration of my business I can achieve sustainable growth and reach my dream to export my products, thank you to the PROMOVER project, for your support and for believing in me:”

Now Israel understands the importance of making objectives and working to achieve them, such as the responsibility he has to his clients, to work within a time-frame and supply products of quality, this has allowed him to acquire contracts with various institutions, who have valued the work of this young businessman from the city of El Alto.
  • 1 formal contract to make coats with public and private institutions.

• 1 contract to make 15 notebook style coats.

• Contract to make coats for the armed forces.

• Design and make uniforms, sports clothing, overalls, parkas, coats and other related clothing.
